Requirement
St Michael’s Primary School required a full decant from their main school, whilst essential refurbishments took place on their existing building. Dumfries & Galloway Council, along with St Michael’s were working to a tight deadline with external contractors, so meeting their timescales was a major priority.
To ensure maximum safety on site and due to the location of existing building works, extensive track work needed to be installed prior to installation, as well as removal of an external wall, so that HGVs carrying the modules could gain access.

Solution
Within days of the order being received, Portakabin commenced work on site laying approx. 150 metres of track way to allow safe access. Once installed, a complete groundworks package was provided with Portakabin taking on the role of principal contractor.
Portakabin provided Dumfries & Galloway Council a complete turnkey package at St Michael’s school including two double classrooms, an administrative area and welfare facilities. Additional amenities were also installed including access ramps, fire alarms and an external canopy.
Portakabin completed the project within the timescale, allowing children to start the new term without any disruptions.
We were thrilled to deliver St Michael’s Primary School as a full turnkey package working in partnership with Dumfries & Galloway Council, which is one of three current projects. Whilst working to a tight deadline alongside the client’s appointed contractors, we were able to keep disruption to a minimum and ensure the children started the new term on time.
